boston comedy festival

The Boston Comedy Festival started in 2000 with the mission of bringing the top new talent in the country together with the top talent scouts and industry to create a place were comedians could be seen and get opportunities in the art of making people laugh. They continue to grow and change with this goal in mind - creating an award system to honor those who have distinguished themselves and building a foundation of excellence that up and coming talent can strive to build their own careers on. As they expand and grow, they've been able to bring outstanding talent out on tour not only around theaters in the USA but to entertain our troops around the world.

On May 15th, 2011 the Boston Comedy Festival came to the world famous Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena, CA for their first round of head to head competition amongst 72 Comedians. Each comic performed a tight 5 minute set in front of industry judges and 12 finalists were chosen. Join your favorite comedian, Erik Rivera as he advances to the Final Round for a chance to be selected for the Boston Comedy Festival and a cash prize of $2,500.

Wednesday May 18th, 2011 at the Ice House Comedy Club at 7pm, Pasadena, Ca. For more information:

half marathon

On May 7th, 2011 I will be joining Team Fox in the run against Parkinson’s. I will attempt my first half marathon – the Santa Barbara Half Marathon in Santa Ynez, California. Help me reach my fundraising goal of $1,000 – every little bit helps. Let us get closer to finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease!

This cause is one that is near and dear to me, as a few years ago my father was diagnosed with Parkinson's. It has been a tough battle not only for him but my family. This race is a small way for me to not only help him but the millions of people suffering from this disease.

The training process has been grueling. I never thought of myself as a runner - but with the help of my fiancee who has been nothing but supportive, I'm ready for this challenge. I will not only be running with Team Fox, but with her by my side.

Click on the link and donate! It doesn't have to be a huge donation - every little bit helps.
